How to Remove Pin Bones from Salmon

Materials used:

1. Set the thawed salmon fillet with skin-side down.

2. Gently feel the surface of the meat to find the ends of the pin bones by gently sliding your finder up/down the salmon until pin bones are detected.

3. With a pair of kitchen or pin bone tweezers (honestly, I used to just use the needle-nosed pliers from the workshop --cleaned and sanitized of course!), take a firm grasp of each pin bone and pull in the direction it’s pointing.

4. Continue until all pin bones are removed.

Notes: There are sometimes elusive pin bones that are not detected until you are eating. So always be aware and careful while eating this wonderfully healthy dish.
